Flash fiction: As posted here on the blog
Short stories: 1000 words
We are open to submissions all year round. Opening lines, trigger words, pictures and word or line counts will be posted on the "THE NEXT EDITION" link before each issue.
We also accept submissions of ‘rants’ for our regular ‘Soap Box’ feature, where you can attempt to put the world to rights in 700 words. Anyone wishing to challenge a rant is welcome to, and will be accepted for the next edition.’

*We print all photographs and artwork in black and white to help keep the printing costs down. We welcome submissions of pictures that go with your poem or short story, just let us know that it is meant to go with it in your submission note.
Please check out the ‘Submissions’ page for what to do if you want to submit some of your writing, photography or artwork.
You can also take a look at some previously submitted work which will appear in the next issue, by clicking on the ‘Taster’ button of your choice.

Please Note:
No editing is done on submitted work, so please check thoroughly before sending your work in for typos etc.
A list of contributing authors for each edition will be published on the SHOTS blog spot.
We ask that if your work is accepted for publication, that you buy one copy of the edition with your work in to help us cover the printing costs (of course, generous donations are also always welcome!)Writing/picture submitted is used in accordance with the direction of the current edition in publication.
